What would you do if you didn’t need money?
What if, at some time in the future, your dreams of business success come true?
Imagine you’ve got a successful business that brings in good money. What more do you want out of life?
What goals do you have, or would you have, if your money needs were taken care of?
Because there’s got to be a reason you are doing all this work, and it’s not just about money!
There’s got to be something you are reaching for, something so satisfying and validating that it’s worth all this work and discomfort.
Why is this an important question?
I’m sincerely asking this question for two reasons.
First, you’re going to get there someday. If you work reasonably hard, get some good advice, and hire well, you will succeed. You will make good money.
And when you do that, you don’t want to start thinking about this question then!
If the first time you think about why you are doing this is after you’ve spent 10 – 15 years grinding on your business – you’ve just invested a significant percentage of your adult life for an outcome that you never defined.

Start Now
Second, if your business is just a means to an end – if it’s a vehicle to earn money so that you can do something else. What if you started doing that “something else” now?
Why wait?
So your assignment for the weekend is to spend some time thinking about, “What would I do if I didn’t need the money?”
I’d love to hear what you discover through that thinking! Hit reply and let me know.
