Is Sales a Mystery?

Most of us didn’t grow up selling anything. (Well, except for some candy or wrapping paper for a school fundraiser and mostly our parents took it to the office and sold it for us, right?) We weren’t raised knowing how to market and sell.

I only know of one university that offers a degree in sales. Most schools don’t even offer a class in sales. We didn’t hone our business development skills in the classroom.

So when you start a business, it makes sense that the sales process is a total mystery!

But it doesn’t have to be…

There are time-tested patterns and templates that work for selling services.

It’s just that no one told you about them.

1.

The first pattern is positioning and targeting.

Your services aren’t for everyone, and your positioning helps folks identify quickly who you’re for and how you help.

2.

Next, we need to define our customer’s desired future state.

What is it that makes what we do meaningfully different from the alternatives? What’s unique about you, your process, or your results?

3.

Finally, we need your Unique Selling Proposition.

What is it that makes what we do meaningfully different from the alternatives? What’s unique about you, your process, or your results?

See how those bullets are full of jargon and mystery words? (What is positioning anyway?)

I’ve created a 3 module course that will give you the secret decoder ring to make all those weird words not just make sense, but make you money!

Invest 4 – 6 hours in some straightforward exercises that you can do on your own and watch the clouds part and a clear way to tell folks about your service emerge.
