What if you’re not going crazy?

When it comes to marketing, I feel like I’m standing on shifting ground.

The world of marketing is changing so fast that it’s tempting to wonder if we’re losing our minds. It can feel like walking through a hall of mirrors, where we can’t tell what’s real or who to believe. Someone who started last week can whip up a website and some videos, and it’s tough (from the outside) to separate them from someone who has been working in the field for years.

If you’re feeling this way, too, we’re not alone. I keep having this conversation over and over.

So when Nick Richtsmeier told me he had a new initiative to help us find solid ground, I had to share it with you.

Nick has helped me gain clarity on what’s happening. He talks about how the internet, with its algorithms and noise, has been slowly eroding trust. He calls it “the enshittification of all-things digital.”

Trust is all that matters.

If we want to build a business that can survive all this change, we have to find a way to stand out from the noise and the endless distorted reflections. Nick believes we need places “not defined by engagement algorithms to relearn trust and, one decision at a time, infuse it back into the cultural stream.”

I find that captivating. It’s not about trying to outrun a rigged game. It’s about building a new one entirely, one based on connection and transparency.

That’s why I’m reaching out. I’ve found that when I’m feeling lost, one of the most powerful things I can do is lean into community. We are all smarter together than we are alone.

Nick’s created a place just for that. The Trust-made Guild is a community of creative and critical thinkers. It’s a space to speak your mind, share ideas, and get off of platforms where you can’t be sure who you’re talking to. It’s a place to find the frameworks and tools to increase your impact and “recenter Trust in our work, our firms, and our communities.”

If you’re tired of walking through the hall of mirrors and are looking for a place to get grounded, I’m inviting you to take a look at the Guild and consider joining us. Doors just opened (it’s still got that “new car smell”), so get inside and find a new way forward.

I’m looking forward to seeing you there.
