What’s your plan for summer?

Summer is typically a time when business slows down a bit.

Sure, June is usually solid, but July may feel a little slow before things just come to a standstill in August as all the decision-makers are on vacation!

Will 2021 be any different?

There are a lot of reasons to think that 2021 will be different from summers past. Obviously, we’re crawling out of the pandemic. With vaccinations up and restrictions down, there’s a lot of pent-up demand for seeing loved ones, new places and spaces, and fun.

On the other hand, our businesses are also emerging from the pandemic. While many of us have healthy balance sheets, there are worries about how we’ll do business development from now on. Are we going back to business travel? Is Zoom here to stay? There’s a lot to figure out, and where there’s uncertainty, there’s opportunity.

Which way are you going?

I’ve already heard from some clients who are going to 4 day work weeks, summer hours, or increased PTO. One client booked a vacation house for everyone to come with their families to work together again. There’s a sense that our teams need time to decompress.

Others are headed back to the office, pedal to the metal, trying to capitalize on growth.

I’d love to hear from you; how will business in summer 2021 be different from past summers? Hit reply and let me know. I’ll collate the answers and let you all know.
