Your mood can change!
Sometimes my head can get into a bad neighborhood. Does that ever happen to you?
It could be a regular Tuesday, but something happens, and I can’t see straight. Everything looks dark or tilted against me. If I try to get something done, I see nothing but bad outcomes. My resourcefulness and creativity plummet.
The dark cloud
I used to try to power through these incidents. Ignoring my mood, I’d keep working – usually with terrible outcomes.
But one day, a friend asked me how I got into those moods? Where do they come from? As I thought about it, I wasn’t sure. Sometimes there was a trigger, a conversation, or an email I didn’t like, but sometimes they just appeared.
“Well, why can’t they just disappear?” He asked.
Changing my state
Now, instead of fighting through it, I go for a walk.
Getting outside, some fresh air and sunshine does my brain wonders.
If the weather is terrible, I try to call a friend, listen to music, or play a game.
The point is, I don’t have to suffer through a lousy brain day – I can change it. Sometimes pretty easily!
How do you get your brain out of a bad neighborhood? How do you get back on track when you aren’t feeling productive how do you get back on track?
Hit reply and let me know – I’d love some additional strategies!
